Gil demonstrates that the only thing he will bring to the playoff is as a starter. But with his consistent lack of control He is the sixth starter. He sure can’t come in for relief. Add to that is he just stood on the mound when the double was hit. I don't think the Yankees have 5 starters better than Gil, I'd be surprised if he doesn't start game 2 or 3. |

FB high, he goes up the ladder and slashes it down first, Rizzo playing off the bag, can't do anything but watch it go into right for a hit, Soto gets it back in quickly, holds it to a single.

Third straight change winds up in a hittable spot below middle, pulled hard to the right side, but Rizzo is just off 1st, holding Schuemann, and dives to his right to snag it, gathers himself and gets up a bit slow, but gets to the bag in plenty of time, inning over.
Top 3, 2-2.
14 pitches for Gil in the 2nd, and he's also at 40 pitches through two innings.
Soto-Judge-Wells for the Yanks in the 3rd.
