And this is the worst of the 7 remaining teams. Imagine playing any of the others? The Indians are probably a better matchup for the Yanks because of their weak rotation. As long as the Yankees jump out to early leads. They don't want to face the Cleveland bullpen if they're behind late in the game.

Well some contact but right at people. Ragans already at about 90 pitches so he won't be in much longer. Keep it at 4-1.

Dammit, Gleyber ropes one, but right to Garcia.

I know I am no expert on baseball, but I have never understood with as much money as cashman has to work with how our offenses have such a hard time getting hits.
This is the best offense you can come up with, with this much money?

I might be wrong, but I think Schmidt is the second best pitcher after Cole. And Cole didn't have very good stuff. I agree.

Torres takes a curve below middle, 0-1 FB below and inside middle at 95.5, fouled off, 0-2 Takes his timeout Throw over on Volpe. Bounces a curve near middle, 1-2 Change above the knees in the middle, lined to 3rd, but near Garcia, who makes a bit of a leap and catches, inning over.
Yanks hit 2 balls hard, but nothing comes of it. Top 5, 4-1 Royals. 17 pitches for Ragans in the 4th, 87 through 4. Yanks might have missed their chance to get to Ragans, who's stuff is down from when they saw him a month ago. Witt, Pasquantino and Perez in the 5th for KC.

Stop me if you've heard this one - Verdugo grounds to second... Roll O'Verdugo has made that routine a bad habit in 2024.

This is the best offense you can come up with, with this much money? Cashman's roster decisions/additions for the last 10+ years have been...um...subpar. I'd argue he's even worse with the pitching staff. it's why so many want him gone. But he apparently has unlimited rope because of a dynasty over two decades ago.

some day cashman will realize that offense including hitting is important, not just pitching and home runs. Well probably he wont, hopefully the next gm will. The Yankees lead the AL in runs scored. hits hits hits not runs scored. We need more people who can bat .275. we would not have last been in the WS in 2009. The longest gap in Yankee history. We will never agree. I think hitting for average matters and explains our lack of play off success.
