The total number of qualified hitters in MLB who hit .275 or better is 33, about one per team. But good teams, contending teams should have at least 3-5 of them. The Dodgers have their trio of MVP's and Rojas and the Padres have several. That's it for the 8 teams that are still playing. You get more of the things that you are willing to pay for. The "modern game" does not value batting average the way traditionalists do. And that might be way guys are getting tiwsted every time somebody throws them a change.

What a play by Berti to keep the game within striking distance!

Who know Berti could play first base like Mattingly?

2-18 with RISP so far this series. Same playoff Yankees so the results will be the same. If they’re not hitting homers this lineup is easily cooked. They only hit 1 hr in the game 1 win.

Sinker inside, waist high, check swing, called a strike anyway, Hill gets a break, 2-3 inches inside on Gameday, bad call. Sinker inside corner fouled off, 0-2 Sinker down and in, inside corner, lined hard down first, Berti dives to his backhand, spears it, and immediately doubles off Massey!! Not exactly the DP ball Boone was looking for but it did the jog.
Terrific play by Berti, especially given he's never played 1st before.
Bottom 6, 4-1 Royals. Stanton, Chisholm and Volpe will face Schreiber, who's coming in for Zerpa.

I think Jazz should be one those type of players but he would have to change his hitting style.

If they’re not hitting homers this lineup is easily cooked. heresy that has been true through the entire cashman era. He believes that only home runs matters. It is what money ball teaches. I think with a payroll in the top 4 you should be in the WS once a decade

Stanton is 0-5 vs. Schreiber with 3 K's. Takes a sinker near middle, 0-1 Misses a slider on the corner away, 0-2 Fb misses up and away, taken, 1-2 Takes the slider well low and outside, 2-2 Slider outside corner, popped to right, not deep enough, Phan almost in his tracks, catches, 1 down.
