Slider on the low outside corner, spoiled down.
Sinker above and outside middle, and I have no idea what Chisholm was looking for, but he just takes it for the ꓘ, 2 down. Terrible at bat. Must've thought it was a slider.

what was the lousy defense? Volpe airmailing the throw allowing a baserunner with 2 outs. He was unlikely to be out, even on a good throw. And he didn't advance anyway. |
