I admit I enjoyed listening to Fancesa and Russo. I've got great memories of the postgame shows they did during the '96 World Series ! As he got older he got intolerant and closed minded. Without Russo, he could be a chore. Once he gave an opinion he expected listeners to accept it as fact. I know he does a lot of podcast work but I have not listeded. I agree. Russo was a good check and balance for Francesa and vice versa. Mike and the Mad Dog was great. At the end Mike alone was a pompous a**.

Remember when Mike Francesa averred that it doesn’t help a batter to know what pitch is coming? That’s when I thought he should stick with football. I remember when Francesa was part of CBS's studio show for college basketball. That was a long time ago.

I agree. Russo was a good check and balance for Francesa and vice versa. Mike and the Mad Dog was great. At the end Mike alone was a pompous a**. Mike did himself no favors the way he retired. Lots of media guys retire and only to return but he managed to do it in a way that annoyed everyone !

Certainly don't agree with Francesa's comment but like everything there are exceptions. Pretty sure most hitters knew what Mariano was going to throw them and they still couldn't hit it.
