Slider misses just outside at the knees, called a strike anyway, a small gift for Schmidt, missed by an inch outside, 0% on Gameday. 3-2 Cutter outer 3rd, waist high, hit hard to right, but Soto goes back, dances a bit, catches on the track, 2 down. Soto didn't look very steady there, but got it done.

Pasquantino goes after a 1st pitch cutter near middle, thigh high, rolls it over to Torres, inning over.
1-2-3 for Schmidt, just 12 pitches, about as well as I could've hoped in the 1st inning for him.
Top 2, 0-0. Wells, Stanton and Chisholm for the Yanks in the 2nd.

Witt fly out to Soto on the track. Might have been out in YS. Witt's fly to the track in right was a HR in 10 parks, including the Stadium, but Soto's drive to the wall in center was a HR in 17 parks. Call it even.

Wells... Takes a cutter above and outside middle, 0-1 FB above where the cutter went, fouled off, 0-2 Hasn't thrown his big curve. Yet. There it is, curve dives to the low inside corner, swung over for the K, 1 down.

Stanton takes a sinker inside, below the waist, 1-0 Cutter up and in makes him lean back, 2-0 Sinker just above and inside middle, topped to short, Witt throws him out, 2 down.

Stanton hit it hard, 108.2 Chisholm gets a FB outside middle, pulls it foul off 1st, 0-1 Takes a curve outside, 1-1 Chases a change diving outside, rolls it over to Massey on the right side of 2nd, throws him out, inning over.
Bottom 2, 0-0 9 pitch 1-2-3 for Lugo in the 2nd, 16 pitches through 2 innings. Schmidt right back out there. Perez, Gurriel and Melendez for the Royals in their half of the 2nd inning.

Mets have 1st and 2nd with nobody out in the 6th, down 1-0 and Taylor missed a double down 3rd by 2-3 inches foul.
