Boone goes to Hill in a one run game against the contact hitting Guardians, and he faces, the hot Rocchio, the hotter Kwan, and the power-hitting lefty Manzardo, and we'll probably see the power hitting righty Noel PH for Manzardo.

Probably should have not pinch hit for Naylor that early, but we will take it. He did get Fry up there with the bases loaded and just one out. |

Rocchio squares to bunt, takes a sinker well outside, 1-0
Same square to bunt, same pitch, misses well outside again, 2-0
Sinker outside corner, bunted foul back of home.
Sinker well low and a bit outside, 3-1
Sinker below and inside middle, big swing, pulls it foul off 3rd, a bit early there.
FB at the top in the middle at 90, and he's late and under for the K!
Great surprise pitch after 5 sinkers.

Sinker waist high outer 3rd, slaps it down the left side, but it slices foul out of play, 0-2
Slider hangs up and in, fouls it back.
Sinker down and in, chases and spoils. I don't think he has a pitch he can get by Kwan.
At-em ball works!
Slider outside and near the top, slapped on a line, but right to Chisholm, 2 down.

Vogt has gifted us 3 Hedges ABs in less than a full game's time. That's some really questionable managing. I don't think they have a 3rd catcher on the roster. So when he pinch hit with Fry, and took him out, he's out of catchers. Exactly. I understand you need runs, but you're leveraging 1 AB with a PH vs. multiple Hedges ABs the rest of the game. Hedges has a real argument for being the worst hitter in MLB over the last 5-6 years. Naylor isn't Yogi Berra, but he can give you SOME offense. Hedges is pretty much a bet zero. |
