Sinker even higher, but he lays off, 1-2
Change tails outside, Verdugo chases, gets a piece to spoil it down. Volpe running again, must go back.
Sinker above the outer 3rd, fouled.
FB tails 8 inches outside, lays off, 2-2
Throw over again, and now Volpe can run without worrying about another.
Change low near middle, lays off, 3-2
And Lively takes too long, pitch clock violation, ball 4.
1st and 2nd, 2 down for Torres.

Torres tries to jump a 1st pitch FB, swings under a sinker above middle, 0-1
FB in the zone up and away, he's late and under, fouls it out of play off 1st.
Trying for a HR it looks like, which paradoxically usually makes him late and under.
FB misses outside at the top, 1-2
Comes set then bluffs Volpe back to 2nd.
FB misses high by at least 3 inches, called strike 3 anyway, terrible call. Hedges pulled it down quietly, got the call. 0% on Gameday and not close. Also seals the deal on Weaver coming in to close.
Another reason not to use Weaver here is that the Guardians shouldn't get familiar with his assortment and stuff, should they rally tonight or later on and turn it into a long series.
Top 9, 6-2 Yanks.
Weaver will come in to face Manzardo, Ramirez and J. Naylor.

FB in the zone, outer 3rd, below the waist, hit it well, but got under it, his fliner to left center, is an easy play for Verdugo, 1 down.

Hanging change thigh high, drop the bat happy zone, inside middle, belted into the 2nd or 3rd row of the Porch in right, solo HR makes it 6-3, and that might get him going. Plus he has success off Weaver.

Takes his timeout.

He pitched in a non-save situation in game 2 vs. KC.
