Some life there in the 9th but nothing before that for most of the game. Bullpen recovered nicely but gotta hit better than that to win obviously.

Good contact by Trevino, but just under it. Yankees put the winning runs on base in the ninth.

Welp. Rodon didn't have it tonight, Dodgers got three homers off him for all 4 runs. The bullpen did a great job, holding this lineup scoreless for 4 2/3 on just 2 hits and a BB, striking out 3. Yamamoto pitched like an ace, shoving the bats up the Yanks' uhhhh...armpits for 6 1/3 innings. Treinen buckled in the 9th, but Vesia made the one pitch he had to make to hang on for the win. Judge continues to...I don't know any other way to put this...fail miserably. Sad.

I was hoping Yankees to leave LA with one win. This is not good to lose both games.

No Judge no win. Its that simple. The guy is letting down his team.

Wow another nail biter. See you In NY Very tough team you root for. If they didn't have so many pitchers hurt, they'd have won 110 and walked away with the title.

Positive to take away at least is that we didn’t go down without a fight in the end. More than capable of coming back in this series. I hate to pile on him because it’s going to just get worse, but Aaron Judge needs to hit the ball. Plain and simple. Great job by the bullpen tonight shutting them down and leaving it at 4. Get Game 3 and they’ll throw a bullpen game, Game 4. Also, we’ll see what happens with Ohtani.

What in Gods name is Volpe swinging at? He takes a walk and run scores and bases still loaded with one out. Why is it you don’t see the Dodger batters swinging at pitches 2 feet out of the zone? They are such an undisciplined team.

Horrible at bat from Volpe. He would have walked if he had never swung the bat. I dislike Smoltz, but he was right. Volpe's approach that at bat was completely wrong. Had to keep the front hip in, step into the slider away and try to slap it to right. Volpe should still be maturing in the minor leagues. He was probably 1-2 years away from becoming a major leaguer, when Yankee management apparently fell in love with his glove. We've been seeing the results of his hitting (and all the K's that come with it) over the last 2 seasons...no time more important than now in the post season.

Good contact by Trevino, but just under it. Yankees put the winning runs on base in the ninth. Yeah, at least they didn't die like dogs. They probably should drop Judge in the order, but 1) It might make it worse for him, mentally, and 2) Boone would NEVER do that. Never ever ever ever ever ever ever.

Had to keep the front hip in, step into the slider away and try to slap it to right. No doubt his mechanics are back to his slumping ways; however, pitch recognition is another thing. I am a firm believer in making a pitcher throw a strike with the bases loaded. Just about every pitch to him finished off the plate.

Sigh. Greetings, teammates. I decided to sit out commenting here during the game because of last night and I'm oddly superstitious about baseball. Yes, I know how ridiculous that is. Anyway, This is about as bad a start as could have happened to this series. Have them basically handing you a freebie in game 1 only to psss it away with boneheaded defensive miscues and a dumb bullpen decision by the manager and follow it up with another disheartening loss. At some point we have to have a serious discussion about Judge's postseason woes, but I'm planning on doing a "season report card" for each Yankee post mortem. That's probably the place to express my opinions, hopefully he finally wakes up after yet another embarrassing game tonight. Yanks have dug quite a hole to climb out of, but I'm not waving the white flag. Baseball's a crazy game, and all it takes is a couple of guys getting hot. On to the next one.

Flaherty just said that Judge is a "non-factor" right now. That's not quite right, Flats. He's a negative factor. But I understand you can't say that on YES.

I was hoping Yankees to leave LA with one win. This is not good to lose both games. Schmidt vs Buehler then Gil vs dodgers bullpen game prob both favor the Yankees but obv you want as much cushion as you can get. Gotta win them both and make it best of 3. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
