Good sharp curve on the outside corner for a strike to Mookie. Cutter bounced sharply up the middle, but Cole lunges and field, flips to Rizzo, gets him, 2 down. Stays in for Freeman.  |

Freeman takes a change way low near middle, 1-0
FB below the kneed, pulled hard down first but foul, 1-1
Cutter maybe missed just high, 0-1% on Gameday, in the middle, 2-1
FB misses outside and high, 3-1
Sinker tails outside, ball 4.
Boone goes to get Cole, and should get an excellent ovation. Pitched very well, undone by his defense and maybe a mental error by both himself and/or Rizzo, but still manages to get through 6 2/3 with a 1-run lead. Five unearned runs, and with better defense, I think he might've gone 8 innings or even all the way if not for the Judge and Volpe miscues.

Judge, Rizzo, and Volpe all need to make up for that Dodgers inning. They owe it to Cole.

Not quite an ace's game because he couldn't escape the 5th with the lead, and it was in a small way his own fault.
But still a good game in this circumstance. Whether it's enough to get them back to LA, I don't know.

I missed the end of the implosion and how we got a run. My house go hit with paint and soda cans but thank goodness nothing went thorugh the window. The dog was laying on the couch.
