If you enjoy torturing yourself like I do:
can't believe i subjected myself to that again. don't remember ever seeing a worse inning and never in such a huge spot. cole deserved so much better. don't usually follow him, but jomboy did a great job breaking the plays down. never saw the video of judge taking his eye off the ball for a split second to check the runner.
sadly and embarrassingly the dodger's scouting report was spot on. put the ball in play and the yankees will screw up. that was the theme of this series.

I can't believe any Yankee fan would want to rewatch that 5th inning. I turned the TV off as soon as Verdugo struck out to end the game.

If you enjoy torturing yourself like I do:
I’ve been watching clips of the 5th inning choke on insta! It’s still baffling how quickly this unraveled, and they blew this game! All they needed was 1 more out… same as game 1. The thing about this team is there were many games that could have/should have been won! They had a knack for ripping your heart out!

What makes this even tougher to get over is that the misplays were for the most part made by veteran players who have reputations of being good defensively. I was walking the dog and missed the 5th inning live. When I got home my wife told me the game was tied because the Yanks made some bad errors. My initial though was "Damn it Torres"!

Heck, I still can't watch highlights from the Game 7's from the 2001 WS and 2004 ALCS.

You're a rare breed...100% class act! I have an ex coworker Met fan... on FB this morning she congratulated the Dodgers for their complete DOMINANCE over the The Yanks. Last nights game was a gift... for her to congradulate the team that eliminated her team is just sour grapes. Poor poor pitiful Met fan. Dominance? If the Yanks just played clean baseball in the games 1 & 5, they would be going back to LA up 3 games to 2. Credit LA for not beating themselves. 100% ... came down to 2 plays

Yanks need Soto a lot more than they need Cole, since it was Soto's protection for Aaron Judge that allowed Judge to put up the numbers he did this season, something most fans won't realize unless Soto doesn't return, and then we'll see that truth the hard way. I hope they don't pick up Cole's option, and use the money they save by letting Cole go, not only to resign Soto, but to get Burnes to become the new ace on the team. The Cole money saved can be put to better use for the future. At 34, losing Cole will NOT be felt as strongly as losing Soto at 26 (and seeing the future he will have someplace else...maybe Citifield?) will be felt.

Not sure Soto was providing protection for Judge in the traditional sense since he hit behind him, think it was more the other way around. Perhaps Judge saw more pitches because Soto was on base so much and that forced teams to pitch to him. For most of the year Judge had little or no protection from the cleanup slot.
