Big time back leg slider beats Rizzo clean, swings over for the K. By-product of having to speed up the trigger to catch up to 97-98. Top 9, 7-6 Dodgers. T. Hernandez, Muncy and K. Hernandez against...Weaver, I guess. At 13 pitches already, he must be close to spent, but who else can Boone trust to keep it a 1 run? Cousins? our best chance to score came on the stanton at bat. I know there is still the 9th, but I also think that wasted opportunity just ended it for this season. A tremendous 5-0 start then disaster... No one to blame but themselves.
Hopefully we will hold LA in the 9th and give ourselves a chance?

Very bad night. Yankees collapse in a sure win to move to LA and we might have seen the last at bat of Soto in Pinstripes. I don't think they can afford not to sign him. I think he likes playing in New York. |

well this is the game here likely How the heck do you give you 7 runs and the 2nd half of the game in your ball park? This might be as bad as any Yankee performance in that situation in the last half century It's been said a lot about this team, and I've never liked saying it, but this is a dumb baseball team. From management down to the players. There are just so many fundamentally inexcusable mistakes made from personnel decisions, to managerial moves, to just simple stuff on the field you learn in little league, that it's just infuriating. This might me the biggest single game postseason choke job I've witnessed in my 40 years as a fan. Just awful. |
