I agree rizz. It's kinda like winning small battles to eventually win a bigger war. You keep getting on via bunting on the shift... Eventually they stop the shift and those hard hit balls to short right field are hits again

It's the right way to play baseball. There was talk of legislating the shift away, which was stupid. If you want to eliminate the shift, then defeat it enough times and it will become a riskier decision, which will lead to big innings vs. the defense. That's why I've been harping about no more line drive hitters that want to hit for average...the Edgar Martinez-type...Tony Gwynn...Rod Carew...Old Wee Willie Keeler used to say "hit 'em where they ain't"...So, learning to push bunt, or to hit to the opposite field is a lost art because of the emphasis on power in today's game...

I think Stanton is actually quite awesome at hitting liners and hitting the ball where it's pitched... Going opposite field with an outside pitch. Actually just saw him do it lol. Imagine if he hit like he has past two months or so all year woooweee

The big difference between them and the stars of the past is their acceptance of strikeouts vs. trying to make contact...
