The more I see of Romine, the more I see a starting catcher in the big leagues somewhere, although probably not with the Yankees long term.

The more I see of Romine, the more I see a starting catcher in the big leagues somewhere, although probably not with the Yankees long term. JR Murphy also did that one season . But I posted in another thread I want Sanchez to transition to mostly DH. I want the Yankees to acquire a catcher. Maldonado is a FA and he's a good defensive catcher .Maybe have him and Romine split time and play the hot hand more often. Have Sanchez on a Leyritz track... Play some first and third and catcher for a combined total of maybe 40 games 50 at most and I want him DHing the other 100+ . Only time he sees the field is when someone else needs a DH day. I honestly think Sanchez has trouble focusing and gets overwhelmed. All the game planning and shit.. If he could just focus on working out and batting instead of working on blocking balls in dirt... Jus t my five cents. I think his bat is too important. also won't have to worry about him getting banged up behind the dish. I really don't wanna see him breaking his throwing hand bc he does such a bad job protecting it |

I definitely think he is better than some team’s starting catchers. If Sanchez were healthy they could consider dealing him. It is a nice luxury to have such a good backup catcher. |

He’s having a tough season but he showed last year he’s more than good enough to hold the position at the major league level and the value he provides with that bat and that arm at that position is far too valuable to move for no reason. He should catch until the position takes too much of a toll on his health, as it inevitably will, but that’s no time soon. |
