First off, if as they say on the broadcast, if that is not what you want to see happen, then why did I like seeing it happen? Michael King struggling in San Diego with a 5 ERA.
Ben Clemens from Fangraphs on Michael King this year:
“His stuff has regressed massively this year. Every pitch, to me, looks worse. He’s throwing 2 mph softer with his fastball, and that’s a lot. Not from last year as a whole, but from last year when he was a starter. That is a big problem. That’s a lot to lose at a young age, and I’m guessing it’s a workload thing…..Right now, Michael King’s stuff is bad.”
