Well, what a game last night! A truly amazing experience for my first game in the Bronx. Went to the game with my Dad and we arrived at the Stadium early to watch batting practice and take the Stadium in. Went to Judges Chambers, Monument Park, etc. The Stadium is just beautiful. Coming from New Orleans where we only have the Super Dome and Smoothie King Arena, you really appreciate the Stadium. The game itself was great as you all know. Hearing the infamous roll call in person was fantastic and it’s something that TV can’t come close to capturing. Severino was just electric last night and that’s huge for the team moving forward. The crowd was behind him for the most part and after he got out of the jam in the first inning, you could tell how jacked he was. Wish Stanton would get going. Frustrating seeing him to revert back to early season, but maybe he’ll start to roll again in the playoffs? Maybe the grind of the season is getting to him? As strange as it may seem, the biggest thing I’m taking from my first experience in the Bronx is the young Justus Sheffield. The crowd (what was left) was really excited to see the kid and he just couldn’t throw a strike. Was nervous Boone would take him out when he loaded the bases with Mookie coming up, but glad he left him in. Mookie hit that absolute bomb and I’m sure Sheffield’s heart sank. But what a moment when he got that DP! He’s going to be a star, I think. Heading back for Game 2 Tonight. If you’ve never been to the Stadium, go! I can’t articulate the experience more, I wish I could, but it’s truly special.

Glad you had a wonderful time, yankee89! And that you stayed until the end! Good man! If they keep winning these games, we may have to buy you playoff tickets!

Thanks for the report, 89. Your excitement came through. So happy for you. I went to my first game at the old Stadium (the one that Ruth built) almost 60 years ago, and I still remember it vividly. I think I felt exactly the way you did. Except instead of Severino and Stanton, it was Whitey Ford and Mickey Mantle. And where Monument Park is was in play, and there were only a few monuments back then -- Lou and Babe and Jacob Ruppert. Maybe Joe D., can't recall. It was about 461 to dead center. But the absolute same feeling. The core of this game never changes, which is why it is my favorite sport. Bring us another win tonight and let Kaybli set McBroom loose!!

My Sox friends over here think I’m lame saying, “ not in our house.” With a sweep tonight though, and with everyone healthy, the Yankees might just turn the corner and get some momentum. That’s what’s important. The sooner we can get Stanton to join the party the better. I fear Sanchez is who he is, but at least you can see he’s much more focused intensity wise.

This is the type of season Martinez is having, a weak groundball turns into an RBI single.

Brock Holt batting 5th? Is Boone managing the Red Sox tonight??? The Red Sox lineup is very top heavy. I believe we have the more balanced lineup.

Bogarts clearly interferes with Sanchez's throw to second and everyone ignores it.

Really wanted Romine catching tonight. Probably won't see Tanaka burying the split finger with Sanchez behind the plate.
