If he was ok with a 1-2 year deal and a significantly reduced salary and role, I’d be ok with that also. My guess is he’ll seek a starting job somewhere else. He’s a pretty competitive guy. Gardner still gives you that gold glove defense: He does. And that speed, veteran experience, defense - some team will find a home for him. Particularly in the NL, we see teams "overpay" for that every season. So I think he'll have options. We'll see. |

Maybe not a ton, but enough to create a competitive market for him. |
