Can you hit a 100 mph fastball, inger? I think everyone can drive. Don’t skin your knees on your implausible analogy.😉

Just noting here that my wife doesn’t drive, and I know several other people who can’t, or at any the very least seldom spend an entire day in their vehicles. As far as hitting a 100 MPH fastball... I might hit one if given the chance, based on the blind squirrel analogy...I might have to start my swing a day before the pitch was thrown, but is possible. But come on, man. The value our society has placed on such a relatively useless act that is for entertainment purposes only is crazy as hell. We all know that...right?...

The Yankees have if not the lowest payroll as compared to revenue, then near the bottom at around 37%. They also now own the majority stake in Yes. The idea that they need to keep payroll in check is a joke. Fans come to the stadium to see the team win. I’ve heard ad nausem that they won 100 games like that should be some bottom line. The fact is they went 50-40 after June 12, a still decent .555 winning clip, but hardly stellar. The Red Sox chased them down and blew them out In August and in the POs. They passed continually on pitchers who could have made a huge difference from Scherzer, Verlander, Cole and Corbin because of money. They lost Didi, maybe for the entire season and seem to agonize over every move. I don’t know if they will sign Machado or not, and maybe they have something brewing to bring over a real stopper using Miggy as the chip. I do know that if they stay as presently constructed when they are a win now club, they will never catch Boston in 2019. Maybe ownership is ok with being a second place team. I don’t think fans are. Let’s sign Machado and get a top of the rotation pitcher and resign Robbie and Britton.

On the other hand the two biggest FA chips are still available, and December is just coming to an end. You may be condemning someone who doesn’t deserve the condemnation. It’s all part of the game you know. Posturing. Waiting. Deciding. Gambling. As for us, we can really only watch. We can do that patiently or impatiently. It changes little to none of what’s going to happen...I’m just being patient right now. Maybe the end product will make sense to me, maybe not. Maybe I’ll like the way the story ends. Maybe not. But right now we have no right to peek at the ending...

I know, inger, that’s why I qualified it So, you’re just blowing of a bit of steam. That’s okay. It’s good for you. I usually just stay more patient through the process. The problem with staying patient is that the pressure builds up inside until the lid blows off the pot, I’d like to do a match up on the two teams once it appears thecrosters have settled. It’s too soon for that. Much to settle for each team... then the beans may be counted...

Bryce Harper, Manny Machado reportedly 'don't particularly like' idea of playing for Philadelphia
According to Joel Sherman of the New York Post, both Bryce Harper and Manny Machado appear to have soured on the possibility of signing with the Philadelphia Phillies.
In a brief excerpt buried several paragraphs deep in his Wednesday column, Sherman wrote the following: “Word is neither player particularly likes Philadelphia and both would have preferred the Yankees, who have shown little interest in Harper.”
I hope this is true but who knows? Sherman is a moron and could just be making things up.

I wouldn’t find it hard to believe that neither wiould be particularly interested in playing there. I mean, I don’t even visit there unless I have to.🙊

The only thing I used use there was the airport. I didn’t particularly like that airport, but it was closer to our house than BWI, and a bit less complicated for me to get in and out of. As for vandalism, even the Liberty Bell was cracked... (:

I don't get the hate for Philadelphia. I've have a lot of family in the Philly area and it's not any different than any other large northeastern city. Sure, there's terrible parts of the city but there's good parts too. Come on, it's the holidays, give Philly, Pa a break!

Philly has its charms. I used to go over there a lot for cheesteaks at Pat's or Geno's. I'd much rather live there than say Baltimore or Cleveland or Detroit. Philly sports fans on the other hand are the worst especially Eagles fans.
