Just spent a few days down in Birmingham playing some courses on the Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail (Oxmoor Valley and Ross Bridge). Has anyone ever golfed down there and played any of the The Trail? Courses were beautiful. I've been to Birmingham What a surprise!
The world's most interesting man has been everywhere!

Kaymer tanked at Jack's tournament. His winless string approaches five years. Patrick Cantlay, on the other hand, looked in fine form. There are almost too many good golfers on the tour these days.
US Open at Pebble on the horizon. Always look forward to that.

A lot of people don't consider Birmingham much of anywhere. But the statue is a highlight. Not the Eiffel Tower or the Great Pyramids, but at least they tried.
You know there is a statue of the Jolly Green Giant in Minnesota. I prefer that to the Vulcan statue, to be brutally frank.

You guys are making me self-conscious. Tell me I am not the only one here who has been to the Weeki-Watchi Water Ballet in Florida. Joe? Kaybli? Anybody?

Courses were beautiful. I've been to Birmingham -- main thing I remember is the giant statue of Vulcan, the Roman god of metal work -- his rear end was pointed toward Tennessee, supposedly that's how you got directions. But never golfed there. Robert Trent Jones was one busy guy. Glad your great golf odyssey continues. That is a really cool quest. We spent most of our time on the golf course (flew in Friday morning, home Saturday night...flight Thursday night was rained out) and played 54 holes in about 26 hours, so didnt get to adventure around the city too much. Dont think I noticed the giant Vulcan statue or his ass. I will be playing (God willing that my body holds up), 135 holes over 4 days down in Pinehurst/Raleigh area in a couple of weeks then have my annual buddies trip out to Mesquite/St. George/Vegas and then its baby time so we shall see how my great golf odyssey progresses from there!

Good stuff Joe. That is a great lineup. Get it in now before you spend the next 18 years tending to Little Joe! Of course in a few years he can be your golfing partner.

Laying down the law from the start. Seriously, you have so much fun ahead of you, both on and off the course.

Real life mermaids performing under-water ballet huh? Pretty kinky, pipps! Sounds like right up inger's alley!

When I lived in Paris, KY there was an old deserted and rusted water tower just west of town on the main drag in that I always called the “Eye-Sore Tower”. I guess every town or city has it’s “thing”. Some of the backwoods places here in Colorado have their “multiple things” I found one guy that has over 400 used and rusting farm tractors parked rather randomly in his front yard. Some were made around 1910 or so, I believe. Didn’t even know they HAD farm tractors that long ago. A museum of sorts...A junkyard of another sort...But the old guy loves them...Still buying, not selling he says...

No thanks...Especially since one of the most popular theories is that sailors were spotting manatees and imagining them to be mermaids. Makes you wonder what the girls back home looked like back then in Geicolandia...
