I wonder if there is a restaurant that has a dish named after Dwight Frye? Some of the Chinese Restaurants have one named after his cousin, Stir Fry… Traveled to China with friends and I was afraid of eating in night markets. Fearful of intestinal issues in the duration of my stay. My friends survived partaking with some questionable delicacies.

I haven't had any food from Francie yet, but that duck looks absolutely delicious. I know the area, Francie is about 2 blocks away from one of my favorite restaurants (Peter Luger's). And, not that far away from one of my favorite Italian restaurants (Bamonte's).
Now, I'm dreaming about a day when I can have duck from Francie, steak from Peter Luger's, Chicken Francese from Belmonte's, then take the Williamsburg bridge over to Manhattan for Pizza at Lombardi's, all in the same day. Mmmmm. I made myself hungry and I just ate lunch. I adore the deliciousness of duck. Me too! I've never understood people who dislike the "gaminess" of duck. To me it is just a much deeper flavor bird than chicken or turkey.

It’s been so long since I had it that I can’t really recall the taste that well. I’d gladly eat it again, but it’s certainly not going to be on my wife’s menu choices. She’s strictly beef, pork, and chicken when it comes to meat…

If you are ever in the city you have to try Francie in Brooklyn right by Peter Luger's for their duck.

I like lamb, goat, venison, buffalo ... pretty much anything that walks, flies or swims I will eat. However, my wife won't cook most of those things, and since I am the only one who will eat it, I have to get it out. Not to turn anyone's stomach, but I also like liver. Smothered in bacon and onions.

I'm agnostic when it comes to duck. Maybe I haven't had it prepared right, I would try it again. One of the things people find strange about me is that I love seafood but I am not wild about lobster. My brother lives in Maine and when I visit we always have lobster but I would rather have a nice piece of Halibut or almost any other shellfish. Weighing in on the steak conversation it has to be medium rare, erring on the side of rare.
I've had Buffalo, it was a big craze when I relocated to California. It's alright but I prefer cow. Not a fan of lamb or goat. My culinary highlight was I got to share a glass of wine with Jaques Pepin and just talk about cooking for about 30 mins. He's easily my alltime favorite Chef.

Also, wondering what people think of grass fed beef? I'm not a fan, doesn't seen to get the same marbling.

Pepin is a fantastic chef. I have one of his cookbooks which I bought many years ago. As with steak, indeed medium rare on the rare side. I started an herb garden years ago. Excited about germinating seeds for the coming season. I love growing interesting hot peppers.

I saw a small Waygu roast in WalMart, so I bought it. Hated it! Maybe the Waygu of WalMart is the bad quality of the Waygu world…
Come on in and buy our FDA rejected Waygu!…

Our favorite duck is ‘duck confit’. We buy it from Maple Leaf Farms. We make a risotto and have it with sautéed mushrooms.

I would imagine it to be a prep issue, but I recall as a small child ww had duck for dinner once. I heard my older siblings an my mother say it was a bit greasy, though I was only maybe 6 so I was personally oblivious.
I would imagine that since we were poor folks and I don’t recall anyone in the family ever hunting that we were likely chowing down on a neighbor’s kill, whether wild or domesticated… I think we ate everything but roadkill. I think… hmmm. Best to not know…
