For Inger: Cicadas are in season! Get them while they're hot! Now that I would not try unless someone pays me a large sum of money. Like you Kaybli, I am pretty eclectic when it comes to food. But I draw the line at insects and rodents. We were in a market in Cambodia where there were big bushel baskets of crickets. But for pure disgustingness, the worst I have witnessed so far were skinned rats at back alley markets in Shanghai. I nearly threw up. My wife and I were the only round-eyes in the vicinity and we caused quite a stir strolling through a non-tourist area. Why we travel.

I hate insects. One of my fears are swarming insects. They give me the heebie-jeebies.

Cockroaches are the worst. I used to be scared of the threat of Killer Bees when I was little. That and army ants.

For Inger: Cicadas are in season! Get them while they're hot! I lived in Texas for a few years when I was a kid. We'd climb up in the trees to get cicada exoskeletons...delicate but usually fully intact.

I used to see those often as a kid in Louisiana and listen to Cicadas "sing" at night. The "song" started low, built to a crescendo, then faded...rinse & repeat. Kinda like the doppler effect.

I'd take the rodents over the insects. I hate insects. Spiny lobsters - no claws. Down the Baja in Puerto Nuevo they serve them deep fried with garlic butter. Muy delicioso.

For Inger: Cicadas are in season! Get them while they're hot! No thanks. I have started eating more foods seasoned with peppers though. Still wouldn’t want to just eat a pepper though…

I didn’t use to mind earwigs, until I picked on up and I watched it hinge it abdomen and bury those pincher looking things into my hand. Hurts like hell, I tell you…little bastards can all die now. I was just being friendly…
