I lived in Texas for a few years when I was a kid. We'd climb up in the trees to get cicada exoskeletons...delicate but usually fully intact. I used to see those often as a kid in Louisiana and listen to Cicadas "sing" at night. It’s a MD “thing”, too…

The 24 oz. porterhouse of insect cuisine. Palmetto bugs are outside roaches that always want to come inside. Yech. If you keep your air conditioner at 65 degrees, they'll stay outside. They also stink when you smash them.

There was a horror movie from the 70s called “Bug” or “Bugs,” in which these roaches became sentient. I’m sure if I saw it now as an adult it would be laughable, but as a kid it scared the heck out of me.

One of my fears are swarming insects. They give me the heebie-jeebies.

Those of you that eat snails apparently don’t like fast food…

Those of you that eat snails apparently don’t like fast food… Turtle walking down a dark street at night gets mugged by a gang of snails. Cops ask him if he can identify his assailants...says NO, everything happened so fast.

Where have all of my feinschmecker friends gone? I know you’re all still eating fine foods while I eat cheeseburgers 🍔 (preferably with bacon)…

I know that area very well, it's a few blocks away from the Union Square. I haven't been there for awhile, but I like the Union Square Farmer's Market. I checked out the restaurant website you posted, I like their menu. I had some leftover BBQ for lunch, but reading that menu is making me hungry.

You should definitely check them out. We ordered four different kinds of pastas to split between the two of us and they were wonderful. And the bill was quite reasonable too like I said. I love BBQ, now reading that is making me hungry.

Oh man, now I'm in the mood for fresh crab/crab gravy(sauce) with linguini. But I don't have any crabs (to whom it may concern, get your mind out of the gutter).
I'm also not in the mood to go to back outside in this humidity to go the seafood store.

My favorite though was the GRANDMA WALKING THROUGH FOREST IN EMILIA which was Cappelletti verdi with roasted, sautéed leeks & black mushroom puree. You have to try that too.
