Even Great Sand Dunes National Park had three hour lines a couple weeks ago. I don’t know how it’s going over there right now. Three hour lines are my sign to stay away… Absolutely. I have great difficulty waiting 10 minutes for a table at Denny's. BTW...hope you don't take it personally, but Sand Dunes NP is my least favorite. IMO, shouldn't even be a NP. It’s simply a quirky place to me. Certainly no reason for me to ballyhoo it. Hot sand is not a favorite of mine, and with my bad feet it don’t enjoy walking in sand that deep. I recall my first time in Colorado being very disinterested in seeing it. I just happen to live closely. We went there several times when we first got here looking for wildlife, but seldom found any. I did take Ruthie on night so we could look at the Milky Way, and it was indeed dark and the view was spectacular. There’s a lot of night time visitors there, probably some orneriness going on at times…if the van’s a-rocking…

However on our drive out of Santa Fe I decided to stop by your place for a surprise visit. I made it thru the minefield ok, but didn't want to test the alligator infested moat, especially when I saw you ready to release the dogs.

That was the wolves.Damned things eat all our company. No one ever visits twice… 🤓 Reminds me of Yogi’s: “if you don’t go to other people’s funerals, they won’t come to yours.”…

My lovely wife took me out for an early dinner to celebrate my birthday today. I seldom order desset but today she insisted.I am glad I did, I had a pumpkin, brioche bread pudding that was topped with carmel sauce and vanilla bean ice cream. It was delicious. Happy Birthday 55.

Last night, I had a thick cut melt in your mouth filet of sole francese from a restaurant not too far from where I live.

So far I can't find black sesame seed ice cream, but found a no churn recipe for it. I usually get it from a soft serve stand at Mitsuwa, a Japanese marketplace in Edgewater, NJ but I think you can get it from certain grocery stores like Whole Foods too. Absolutely amazing. My favorite ice cream.
