Dellin Betances late getting to Yankees spring training after his wife gives birth
New father Dellin Betances wasn’t present for the Yankees first pitchers and catchers workout on Thursday, following the birth of his son.
Janisa and Dellin Betances welcomed Dellin Jr. to the world on Wednesday and “everything’s going well,’’ said manager Aaron Boone, adding that he expects his right-handed reliever to arrive here “sometime in the next few days.’’

Tim Tebow hasn’t taken one snap in the outfield yet, guys. Why do I get the feeling that we will someday see Tebow get at least on MLB at bat with the Mets? Absolutely, we will. That was the whole point of this publicity stunt in the first place. And it seems like he's athletic enough to possibly be a replacement level player, so they'll market the crap out of him. Looking forward to seeing him take a knee and point skyward after a productive groundout that advances the runner.

Or a foul tip on strike three that the catcher drops.

Or a foul tip on strike three that the catcher drops. Will Sanchez be the catcher on the play?...

Ha, ha.. hopefully, in Tebow’s prayers. Also in his prayers, all lost puppies will find a loving home if he hits a home run. If it's a game winning grand slam, kittens will also be homed...If it's in the bottom of the ninth to win a game, we may domesticate squirrels and give them a home too...

I think Tebow needs to accept he is not going to make it in a major league. He is pretty old to enter baseball as a professional.

I think Tebow needs to accept he is not going to make it in a major league. He is pretty old to enter baseball as a professional. I think he accepts it. But it keeps him in the public eye where he can continue to utilize his fame to get endorsement work, as well as to help him spread his religious message. So, yeah. He’ll likely get only a cup of coffee in MLB, but he’s not doing what he’s doing for “a living”. He’s doing it so he can continue to make a much better living. He’s doing what it takes to remain relevant. I do believe that he’s somewhat addicted to fame...

Which strikes me as dishonest and materialistic not a Christian virtue [well being addicted to fame is not a Christian virtue either].
On the other hand I am far from perfect either...

One problem all religions have is that they’re all shrouded in guilt because none of them have achievable tenants...I do believe noetsi that as popular as Tebow IS, and he is very popular, he also draws haters because they see what you’re seeing...Those haters tend to be non-religious for the most part, I believe. I’m pretty neutral on him. I’d say that I don’t enjoy having Jesus pushed at me too hard. I especially don’t get the oft-repeated “Since there is more to gain by believing then not believing, why not believe and not take a chance”? To me, that’s not what faith should be about. You can’t manufacture belief, you either do or you don’t...But I have respect for people who have a full faith, no matter what that faith is...

I dont think this is particularly accurate. I have never gotten that impression from Tebow. These guys have been athletes their whole lives and dont really know any other speed or how to do anything else. He is a millionaire putting himself through the slog of minor league baseball surely well knowing he will probably never make it to the big stage. And its not like hes embarrassing himself or something just to stay relevant...he had an above average OPS in the Eastern League last year. He can do any number of things to stay in the public eye quite easily but he obviously has a drive to perform athletics even if its not at the top levels.

I WAS going to add that it beats actually working for a living... (: I also believe that he wants to remain relevant so he can spread "the word", so he sees all that he does as the lord's work...
