If I were Keuchel, I’d go ahead and shave, get to Houston and look Cashman up with a blank contract and ask him to be fair...

Any word on Hicks? I thought he was supposed to be back by now. Signs an extension and is immediately hurt. Assume he and Ellsbury now carpool to the bank every month to cash their checks.

I think Hicks was supposed to start resuming "baseball activities" a few days ago. Considering he missed most of spring training, I think we will be lucky to see him back before May. I guess Severino can join Aaron and Jacoby in that carpool now. Saves on gas.

Ellsbury: “What kind of bank can’t hand me $2.13 M in small bills? I’m moving my account to Mr. Drysdale’s bank”!!!

Any word on Hicks? I thought he was supposed to be back by now. Signs an extension and is immediately hurt. Assume he and Ellsbury now carpool to the bank every month to cash their checks. This is the latest I found on Hicks:
Aaron Hicks is still not close to returning from the injured list to help a decimated Yankees lineup, but according to manager Aaron Boone, the center fielder and leadoff hitter is making progress.
“[Thursday] I believe he is starting baseball activities. He will be throwing [Thursday],’’ Boone said of Hicks, who hasn’t played since March 1 due to a lower-back problem that was believed to be minor, but has required two cortisone injections. “It’s been about a week or so where he has been feeling really well coming in every day.’’
Because of what Hicks means to the Yankees in the field and at the plate, the club is taking it slowly.
“They obviously have been treating it conservatively because we don’t want to have any kind of setbacks,’’ Boone said before the Yankees’ 8-4 victory over the Orioles on Thursday. “A lot of the stuff he has been doing is treadmill stuff and core strengthening and feel like he is in a good place to start baseball activities and hopefully we start to ramp him up. I believe he is throwing [Thursday] and he will graduate to tee and toss.’’
Boone said he didn’t anticipate Hicks needing a full six-week spring training to get back, but said he is going to need more than a few games.
“I don’t think it will be six weeks, but he has to get some at-bats and once he gets back to the point where he is playing in [minor league] games, it’s not going to be just five or 10 games. He is going to have to play some and get built back up.’’

Not that the injuries are in any way related, but this would have to make the Yankees cautious about signing an extension with Didi, at least until after they have seen him play some later this season. Remember, after being very durable for the Yanks his first two years (155 and 153 games), he spent nearly a month on the DL in each of 2017 and 2018. And now this. And he will be 30 starting the 2020 season.
I sure wouldn't be rushing to give him six or seven years at this point. Of course, you still need a SS (or a second baseman if you move Torres), but there are enough red flags out there with him to at least be really careful.

Everybody lives Didi. Everybody except Father Time. He’ll erode Didi’s skills, just like he does everyone else’s... My thoughts were that by the time Didi returns, he won’t be long for SS, and may be our future 3B or 2B. I was thinking more 3B because of his arm...If he still has that kind of arm as he ages. Branch Rickey was a smart man. Better a year too early than a year too late. With the way today’s contracts are that’s more like better a year too early than five years too late...

I'm crossing my fingers that he can be back without surgery but will he be able to make the throws from third? Or will he be used just as a DH? Will he be the same player? Who knows.

This can't be good news about Sanchez. This season gets more absurd by the day.
