But left field in Yankee Stadium! Death Valley!... No. just no. Wanna try 1B? We don’t have a premium defender there now...We don’t know if Voit is still what he appeared to be. We don’t know for certain if Ford will hit long term. At least he may be worthy of competing in that scenario... It would be exciting however in the Chinese sense of that word...

Just listening to CC’s podcast and he was talking about how he adjusted to the idea of pitching from the pen, even to the point of thinking maybe he could do it next year and then in his words “the baseball gods said, yeah no we’re gonna break your shit.”
He said his shoulder is damaged several different ways, rotator cuff tear, labrum tear, bicep tear and he damaged the capsule. Some of those tears he’s been pitching through this year.

All of that in the shoulder, plus landing on a what has to be a horribly damaged knee. Those “baseball gods” did him a remarkable favor. He could have gone on for a couple more years from the pen, though. A LOOGY for sure, but he could have done it. But to what purpose? More pain. More love...

The more I know about CC the more I like him. He mentioned he needs to get the surgery know because he’s in pain but also so he can be ready to pitch to his son next spring and to come to spring training to throw BP.
