Gio Urshela to the 10 Injured List. He was one of the last to remain unscathed. I suspect he won’t make the minimum plate appearances now. We could purposely go extra innings for a while... Amazing how impending decisions are suddenly moot. With Urshela on the IL, LeMahieu becomes the everyday 3B. Luke Voit returns and Mike Ford becomes the backup before the September call up.

Not surprising, but still discouraging that Gio becomes the 29th different Yankee to hit the IL this year. Hopefully this really is just a 10-day deal, and it is mitigated somewhat by the return of Voit. Definitely don't need Gio to be missing the post-season. I guess Estrada is still on the IL? Wade might be seeing more time now. It's his turn to become an instant All Star.

This year, it seems like anything can go right. As the man said. "Fairy tales can come true, it can happen to you...."

Stupid National League rules with the “strategy” of having the pitcher hit.

Another guy coming back that people might have forgotten about - Ben Heller has been pitching pain free and pretty effectively

Stupid National League rules with the “strategy” of having the pitcher hit. I remember CC was all excited about hitting for probably the final time in his career and I was thinking "what could possibly go wrong here?"

Totally hindsight... but it might have been a good idea to bypass CC in NL games. He wouldn’t have liked it... but...

[ After careful consideration, Dr. Inger is recommending that CC not return to the mound... Sure, that’s kind of sad. On the other hand, he’s become a negative contributor to the goal of winning baseball games. At the same time, he’s causing himself to endure physical pain. It would be better if he went ahead and got a knee replacement done so he can live a normal life for the rest of his lifespan. Do it, CC. Don’t force the team to make difficult decisions...

He’s been pitching through pain all season. I am not sure he will have enough time to be in shape to pitch in October but if he is they will put him on the roster. I could see him being an opener in a postseason start

I could see him being an opener in a postseason start CC pitched well last night but it's tough to watch him in so much pain.
