I was watching Michael Pineda pitch in the first inning against the Indians on MLB. Most of his fastballs were 91-92. He's throwing strikes.

Sterling also likes to give all the people scoring from home how a played should be scored. That would have been a riot. Do people still score from home? I know broadcasters always use that intro when they give the scoring on a complicated play, and maybe there are still kids or shut-ins who do that. As a kid I often used to do it at the park just to keep focused on the game. John Sterling is the Ted Baxter of broadcasters. Not sure who to compare Suzyn with. Maybe Fran Drescher? She’s the ALF of broadcasters. Still trying to figure out how things work on this planet.

Who is he going to blame this time? Bad habits carried over from his Yankees experience...

Laureano now has 11 assists in 56 big league games. Players may want to think twice about trying to take an extra base on him.

What was really impressive besides the throw is how quickly Laurenano recovered once the ball got off the wall. He hustled at top speed, picked the ball up and fired with a quick release, as if by instinct alone. It shows that he is a baseball player, pure and simple. He knew what he was going to do in that situation the moment Betts stepped up to the plate. I remember that feeling. The assist from CF was always one of my favorite accomplishments, as much fun as hitting a HR or making a great catch...Imagine doing that in MLB...instead of on a school field or empty American Legion field...Wowser...and you get to watch the reigning AL MVP tagged out on your throw two nights in a row, to boot...
Now, I couldn't throw out a nun with a wooden leg...

Laureano threw out another Red Sox runner today, this time Mookie Betts trying to go from first to third on a single. That makes 12 assists in 57 games for this guy. Why does Boston keep testing him?
Hope the Yankees are taking notes.
Boston's 2-6 start is the worst for a defending champion since the deliberately busted-up Marlins of 1998.

For a moment, because of the way he's pitching, I thought you wrote "Sale fire".
