[img src="//storage.proboards.com/6828121/images/udcwFqPimnXDtjoTmoVL.gif" alt=" " class="smile"]. I saw the Red Sox leading 4-3 going into the bottom of the ninth, but I had a feeling the White Sox won when I saw the new post icon on the Non Yankee Game Thread! DELMONICO STAKES WHITE SOX TO WIN!!!

I've got no beef with Delmonico, but this is a rare occasion. I don't think Boston will be cowed by this. Sorry to steer this thread toward obvious puns.

We’re 2.5 back of Tampa and 4 ahead of Boston as we prepare to put an end to Minnesota’s Cinderella season.
Which reminds me of the goofy old Jerry Lewis classic, “ Cinderella”. As a small child, I thought he was hilarious...and teamed with the straight-faced Dean Martin, even more so.
When he got older and continued to do the same characters, I found it to be ineffective and quite sad...
The worst thing about Jerry was that he thought he could sing, and the networks would oblige him with a few opportunities every season to do a guest singing spot on variety shows, and he would sing on his own shows...And he would treat us to a few numbers on his telethons...
Big star in his day, though...

You're giving him a run for his money! You’d have to grill them both to determine which one is buffaloing you into believing he’s the best and which one has lost his marbling. Of course we do know that Pipps has been aged longer and marinated daily with a carefully measured amount of fine liquor. Then again, it could all be a bunch of bull...

He probably has a mountain (of) oysters piled up in that brain of his to (artificially) inseminate to us. I know I haven’t really had that much time to stew about it because I’m trying to cook up a few sales right now. I think we need the game to start...

Check out this game saving catch by Josh Reddick. Nice. You know guys, I don’t want to come off like I’m preaching here, but I might anyway. I’ve always said that if I could pick my own team, I’d want to have a premium defender at every position. Some of them would be among the game’s best hitters, simply because there are players that can play every facet of the game. Some might be average hitters. None would be horrendous banjo hitters, but premium defense would be my number one priority. That catch, and the recent one by Pillar, along with moments like the DP Gleyber started today shows that defense prevents losses. When you prevent losses, you win. Right now, we are getting less than premium defense out of Andujar, Frazier, and Voit*. Despite some of the “doofus” plays as we’ve come to call them this year, the Yankees are playing some strong defense. The bad plays, in my opinion, have had a fair amount to do with having so many players on the IL, which has caused players to change positions and often fail to communicate. Now that the subs (good defenders, nice job, Cash) have settled in, that’s improved tremendously. Back to that play by Reddick...he’s not a great hitter, though he’s off to a good start this year, but he’s still making plays like that at 32. Take note also of his throw back in to second base. Strong and accurate. It has no affect on the play, but it sure would give me pause about about running on him... *Voit has worked on his defense. He looks much improved. He’s one exception I can make if he thumps like it appears he can. In an ideal world, he’s a DH that backs up at first base. The world is not always ideal...
