Good lord. Are you sure that’s not from a spring split squad game in Fort Myers?

Other than Torres being benched, this is who the Yankees are. And most likely will be for at least the next few weeks, with the possible exception of Sanchez coming back at some point during the West Coast trip. And I'll believe that when I see it.
The Yanks are more likely to have a few more players go down than have them return over the near term. Just the way they roll.
Probably Torres is being benched because Boone wants to at least have him available to start the road trip. It would be seriously demoralizing to have him get hurt the day after Judge.

It's actually going to seem weird to see players like Aaron Hicks and Didi Gregorius and even Giancarlo Stanton playing for the Yankees again, if we ever do. And Ellsbury? Is he ever going to even play again? Have there been any recent sightings?

Top ten reasons Gleyber Torres is not in today's line up
#10... Torres is 22 years old so he doesn't have the stamina to play every day #9... 22 years old in baseball years is closer to 25 #8... He forgot his glove #7... Damned if I can come up with anything for #7 #6... Boone is a dope #5... Girardi was a dope, too. I know he's not here any more, but I needed some filler for this stupid list. If you don't believe me YOU try to come up with ten of these #4... Analytics say he can't hit today's starter, so Boone is saving him for a big, base-loaded pinch-hitting appearance #3... Got to get Tyler going #2... Yankee program to prevent injuries by giving players off days has proven to be such a great success #1... Boone still thinks the ball Torres hit yesterday was a home run

I was just thinking. If Boone had been managing the Giants during the Bonds "Big Head" years, Bonds would never have broken the HR record. Boone would have given him the day off following the days he hit a home run, so he would have only played in about 90-95 games...
The M & M boys would have only hit about 30 each in '61...
History is such a sham...

I don't get the Torres benching, could they just not wait a couple of weeks, when hopefully Sanchez and Stanton would be back?

LeMahieu doubles, moves over on the deep fly ball by Voit, and scores on the wild pitch!
