My guess is that Noetsi would miss the bunt sign, hanging you out to dry and bringing me up with two out and nobody on. This will indeed induce a headache and I will need to be taken out of the lineup and replaced (temporarily, of course) by some fresh-faced new poster. Who here would actually give the bunt sign.... My role would be to so bore the other team with silly statistics they fell asleep during the game. ZZZZZZZZzzzzzxx. Huh? Did’ja say sumpin?!!! |

It helped the Yanks win the game. |

The bunt still has a place in the game...Used judiciously, it’s still a great weapon. Even the respect the defense must pay to it has an effect on the outcome of games...If it ever went away, the game would change for the worse...To quote Jim Bouton, “Tell your statistics to shut up”...

I was pleasantly surprised to see Boone play that the right way by not bunting with a man on first but then bunting when it was 1st and 2nd no outs. Great job by Estrada to execute. |
