Tied up much of the day, but I was able to see most of the game (not the ninth inning, fortunately.) It's beyond amazing what this group has accomplished. Already won a West Coast road trip, which even healthy Yankee teams have trouble doing.
Until this motley crew of prospects, suspects and rejects goes on a losing streak, I am in no rush to get the regulars back. Kudos to all of these over-achievers. This is fun.

I saw some of the Meredith Marakovits comments. I know a little about her because she is from my general neck of the woods. She started on the Philly sports station maybe 15 years ago, and I saw her at a few local events. She seemed very personable.
And she is indeed a big one. I am 6'4" and in her heels she wasn't much shorter than me. She attended LaSalle University in Philly on a volleyball scholarship, so she qualifies for jockette status.
To me she falls into the basic Kim Jones category, and like Kim she will soon reach her sell-buy date and be replaced by someone similar. It's how the business operates.

I remember my now-deceased brother used to tease his extra large mother-in-law mercilessly. She’s been gone for about thirty years or so now. Lloyd would tell her that when she took a bath he figured she would get in the tub and squeeze an eye dropper full of hot water into the tub and it would be full to the top. Most of the time she’d laugh, but that one pissed her off a little. We all need to feel good enough in our own skin to have a sense of humor about who we are...That seems to be the kind of person Meredith would be. Can dish it and can take it...We all have some physical characteristics that are less than perfect... |

That was a joke, son...I joke I tell ya'...It's what we call dark humor, see? Just the thought of him surviving another twenty years, and the Yanks propping him up on pillows to announce games is bad enough, but then you add Meredith to the picture, changing his diapers during commercial breaks and it gets real, real dark... |
