BobbyJack! Pretty good poster... He's signed up here but hasn't posted since November of 2017. You know, I was looking at a couple of other forums the other day. I was looking to see what kind of activity they’re seeing. They were Yankee forums, and they were nowhere near as active as this little group. I’m thinking that with the young folks not seemingly that interested in baseball anymore, maybe the baseball forum poster is just a shrinking demographic. I hate to think that banfoulballs and Grandforks might have followed mrG777 into that great pile of text in the sky, well... it IS possible. Is this the last stand for Yankee forums? If so, let’s go down proudly. We can die off one by one until the last of the Posthicans is all that’s left...

I tried to get some new posters by doing a test run of facebook ads for 20 bucks for a week. Got something like 2000 extra clicks to the site but unfortunately no new posters.

I tried to get some new posters by doing a test run of facebook ads for 20 bucks for a week. Got something like 2000 extra clicks to the site but unfortunately no new posters. TV viewership seems to be still strong for the sport, but there are some franchises with very poor attendance. I would imagine most of the TV audience to be retirees and middle aged folks... Tickets prices are too high. Concessions are too high. Parking is an added cost, and with variable access. I hate to say this, but I also believe the multi-nationality of the sport has taken away the "American Pastime" image. Personally, I don't care much where the players are from. On the other side of that same coin, other multi-national sports have invaded America, particularly soccer and are simpler to play and learn. Plus...everybody gets a trophy now, and we don't even want to keep score. Just play your little incompetent hearts out...Baseball is fading, and forums are too... If you get time, check out some of the other forums. This one is not really all that low on participation... BTW: We tried Facebook ads for the forum for the Solar Business, too. We had a similar experience. Google Ads seem to be even worse. We have a $50 per click deal going. The few people we get are not all that serious about solar. It's people that get their electric bill and get pissed off, get on the computer after a half dozen beers and then sober up...Or we find out that they don't have the credit to buy...On line ads are tricky. It can be really expensive to have a big presence...

I think there's still some young baseball fans, but many of these younger people tend to spend their internet time on instagram and twitter as opposed to message boards. It's just the way of the times.
