After that DP call was reversed, I’m wondering if there are more out or safe calls getting overturned. The old rule of thumb was that ties went to the runner, which gave the offense a slight advantage on a bang-bang (bangwaggon?) play.
So, if the ump couldn’t tell, the play would revert to “safe”. Now, they’re reviewing those plays, I would suspect the the review is catching more outs than creating safe calls...

Why was Happ taken out of the game after 64 pitches and striking out the first batter of the 6th? Don't tell me he got hurt.

Happ may not have his best stuff today, but I would have let him keep grinding awhile... I just hope we get some length out of our game two starter...

He pulled German in the sixth in his last start, too. Gotta get our middle relievers going...

He pulled Ottovino after striking out a guy, too. He does realize we play two today, right? It used to be that managers would let pitchers work out of jams and would base their decisions on how the pitcher was throwing. For instance, if he started throwing consistently high or lost the plate he could conclude that the pitcher was tiring. I can even understand the 100 pitch stuff as I think there is some science to back it up--or at least anecdotal evidence. But I have no idea what Boone's decisions are based on. Strike out a guy--take a seat!

Kahnle just struck out 2 in a row. He's probably on a bus to Scranton right now.

Strike out a guy--take a seat! Hit homer, take a seat. Get three hits, take a day off. Have a three-homer day, go on a week’s vacation. Hit four homers, retire. Pitch a complete game... oh no you don’t. Not on Boonie’s watch...
