Clint Frazier has an issue that has been concerning me for quite a while. He guesses the pitch and the location... when he’s right, BOOM! When he’s wrong... very ugly swings that miss by a LOT. He’s also over-aggressive. The combination makes me question his ability to recognize pitches...

He’s also over-aggressive. The combination makes me question his ability to recognize pitches... How is that different from Sanchez who swings at pretty much anything. |

Less contact than Sanchez...plus we would ALWAYS give catcher’s a bit more levity due to the other aspects of their job. Add in as well that I remain disappointed with Frazier afield. He has a nice above average throwing arm, but takes some horrendous routes to the ball that result in less than stellar ball-hawking skills... |

I also have to challenge your statement that Sanchez “swings at anything”. Gary’s BA is currently .259, and his OBP is .339. That’s a spread of .080, easily a wider spread than the MLB. average... Gary gets fooled often with low and away sliders when he’s looking fastball... But he is much more patient, and with a much longer track record than young Mr. Frazier... |
