Buckner made between 12-17 errors at 1B every regular season between 1981 (strike shortened, Yikes!) and 1986... Yeah, once he got into his mid-30s, his ankle issues messed him up in the field. He should have been DHing by then. |

That’s the sad thing about THAT game. His manager made a strategic error. Buckner was left in a bad place, though THAT play was not the kind of play he usually got charged errors on... |
