Doing a little advance scouting on MadBum, just in case the Yankees have something in mind. He's looking good against a tough Dodgers lineup, only one run in seven innings. I feel like they might regret it if they go that way but he also might be the best available option. The decision to pass on Keuchel certainly narrowed their options.

Without what Cortes did, none of the rest was possible. Kahnle and Chapman might not like that, but he set them up today... And yes, Didi should have made that play, but why would you replace a SS that’s played well in the field all season for one yhat’s Still scraping the dust off after you predetermined he’d get the day off? Doofus doo-doo there... Boone should manage drunk. Maybe his impaired judgement is better than his regular judgement... Honestly, in the car driving to the airport I was first guessing that decision. Man, I remember the days when so many Sunday afternoons it was off to the airport. Back home late Friday. Hope you can deal with it better than I could.

Still had a great weekend with the family. Life is good.

Usually when a team is as bad as the Giants, there are a lot of names that aren't terribly recognizable. But most of these guys are pretty well-known. Even a guy I might not ordinarily know is Mike Yastrzemski, so that's an easy one.
Too bad for the Giants that the best days are behind most of them.

Hey Tarpley was pretty strong today. I’d like to see him stick with the team even if it means DFA Cessa or deal Cessa for not much. Cash tends to never give anything away for free though.

My daughter had a dance recital this afternoon, so when I left it was 5-0 Yanks and Nestor was dealing. It appears I missed some ugly work by the usually reliable backend of the bullpen. At they won the game, but this has been a tough week.

I spent 3 hours watching my boys play flag football this morning on a beautiful day. It wasn’t the best football you’ve ever seen but it was awesome and life affirming.

I remember watching my nephew playing T-ball & flag football games, half the kids were into it and the other half had no idea and were probably only there because their fathers made them. Glad you had a great day watching your son play. The dance recitals aren't that bad, there are some really talented kids performing, but you usually have to sit through a lot of routines before you get to see your won kid.

Interesting day for Chapman. He doesn’t allow an earned run, but he does allow the tying run to score while blowing the save and getting the win...Talk about mixed results...
If we still had MVPs I’d have to take Tarpleycortesgreen for this game...
