Vargas is probably one of the least known players in MLB that has both win a Rookie of the Year Award and has led his league in victories in a season... Still plodding along at 36 yrs of age...

This is the best lineup the Yanks can put out with the current active roster.

This is the best lineup the Yanks can put out with the current active roster. Yeah. Although I am thinking about Urshela. But this is a lot closer to what we were expecting to see before the avalanche of injuries. Plus no Morales for the second straight game. Maybe the high exit velo on those ground outs isn't cutting as much ice with Boonie anymore.

The only time you'll see "high speed" and Morales in the same sentence.

Right now I am liking Maybin a lot more than Gardner. I will be fully prepared to be all weepy about Brett after he retires, but right now he is getting on my nerves with so many weak swings. Interspersed of course with just enough HRs to keep him ahead of Morales on the depth chart.

I think Urshela has been struggling recently...

If Morales were any slower, he'd be going backwards. Yeah, an old one, I know. My high school baseball coach used to use that one. (not for me. I had other holes in my game that were thoughtfully brought to my attention.) Not original with me, but there's also "he's so slow it takes him an hour and a half to watch 60 Minutes."

Morales is so slow, Albert Pujols beat him in a foot race.
Morales is so slow, it takes a triple to score him from second.
Morales is so slow, even Johnny Damon can throw him out.
