1-2 count and we give up another run. Time for Paxton to come out.

Leaving aside the opener game Sunday, this makes four straight non-quality starts for the Yankees. Looks like Chance Adams may get an opportunity tonight.

maybe we should have invested in another starter.... 6-0 as yet another single drives home a run.
All we need is a touchdown and an extra point.

I'd leave Paxton in there to get some more outs, the Yanks can't keep torching the bullpen.

I wouldn’t be surprised if we hear that Paxton is going to miss a start because his knee is barking again... or maybe worse...

In 10 starts this season, only once has Paxton pitched more than six innings. In one other start he pitched exactly six innings. So he is definitely a prime culprit for burning the bullpen.

I'd leave Paxton in there to get some more outs, the Yanks can't keep torching the bullpen. they aren't stars, he is. But they are humans, so they have limitations. The key now is for Adams to give us about 3.1 to 4 innings and a chance to get back in the game... tell him if he gives up a base runner he stays behind Cortes on the depth chart. That should take the pressure off...

I am reading LASSO regression. Even this game is better than that
This is what makes my job fun...
"The large number of primary variables specified in stress scenarios poses a challenge for the design, selection, and estimation of forecasting models. In the case of the CCAR, restricting models to use only contemporaneous values of the variables and ruling out interactions lead to 2 to the 28 power possible linear models for explaining a single dependent variable, say, the default rate of a specific asset class. Model selection intractability worsens as the number of potential models grows linearly with the number of variables to forecast. Moreover, in the context of macro stress tests, the dimensionality of the data may exceed the length of the sample size raising concerns about model overfitting. In these tests, data is typically available at an annual frequency and may be available only for few years. In this case, least squares cannot yield unique coefficient estimates and some method is necessary to reduce the number of covariates included in the model. "

I wouldn’t be surprised if we hear that Paxton is going to miss a start because his knee is barking again... or maybe worse... I'm sure Tanaka will be making the start on Sunday and not Paxton.
