Let’s pretend I didn’t pay a lot of money to see today’s game. Despite the score, we had a great time. When you have a great time, the money doesn’t matter. I would say when you invest in Old Timer’s Day, that’s one day where you get a guaranteed return on your money. A win is gravy...

Sorry you had to see such a sucky game, GF. At least you got to see old timer's day. A win would have been better but we had a great day.

The most minor and forgettable of kerfuffles, Inger. No offense taken, and none intended. I consider Noetsi to be a nice guy and an important part of this forum. Doesn't mean I won't dispute his viewpoints in the future. In fact I guarantee that I will. Probably starting with the next game thread. But I found his remarks to be quite restrained and tasteful. If I could choose a lake to jump into, it would probably be one of the glacial ones at Glacier National Park. Cold but beautiful. [img src="//storage.proboards.com/6828121/images/udcwFqPimnXDtjoTmoVL.gif" class="smile" alt=" "] Good for you pipps for not taking offense.
It never even occurred to me to take offense. I thought we were supposed to give and take on here. I've certainly had a lot nastier shots from much nastier people. Plus keep in mind that I had several gin and tonics to keep me on an even keel.

I fell asleep after I got home and saw the score. I missed the “Fight of the Century”. We always said to go jump in “A” lake. To me that allowed you to decide which lake you were going to jump into. To tell you to go jump in “THE” lake would imply that there is a specific lake in mind. Unfortunately you were not told which lake. There could be complications now. “Russ, Pipps just jumped into Lake Michigan.” “Don’t blame me, and it doesn’t count. I wanted him to jump into Lake Erie”. I’ve learned from this. Next time I’m inclined to use that phrase, I’m going to be more specific. “Go jump into the southwest end of Lake Ontario right where that boulder with the moss on the north side is. The one with the pecan tree to it’s right”... The most minor and forgettable of kerfuffles, Inger. No offense taken, and none intended. I consider Noetsi to be a nice guy and an important part of this forum. Doesn't mean I won't dispute his viewpoints in the future. In fact I guarantee that I will. Noetsi you’re good with all of us. We ride you like a broken down mule. We all deserve to have you kick us a time or two. You’re a good a patient man, and now we got to finally see that you have a limit. We all do, and I admire you for reaching yours and telling us where it is. I don’t really figure you were telling Pipps to jump. You were telling all of to jump... He happened to be the one that put the last straw on the stack... But since you feel compelled to apologize, I’ll accept it (for the gang) and keep on riding you. Sometimes that’s what friends do, but they expect to be ridden back, so feel free to do so...

Plus keep in mind that I had several gin and tonics to keep me on an even keel. Lol. I hate that I’ve driven right past Glacier and Yellowstone without entering either one. Ruthie’s sister lives a few hours away in extreme western Washington, so we always go with a destination in mind and never enough time... Maybe one year we can get the sister and family to go to the parks and we can all meet there... But, the point of this post was to give you a hearty lol at the gin and tonics... I kind of got lost along the way. It’s almost like passing those park entrances...

Thanks inger. It has been a rough year. What is amusing is how often I disagree, which probably means I am wrong. My views come from an older era of baseball where batting average was more important and (ironically given what I do for a living) statistical analysis less important. I miss hits and runs, stealing, bunting and the like. Yellowstone is going to blow up some day and take the US with it. Probably a microsecond before Happ gets a perfect game (or the last Yankee starter leaves the IL).

I’m open minded... (:

Everything is cool, Noetsi. No apologies remotely necessary, you did nothing wrong and were quite justified to rib me as I did you. Next time what do you say we both gang up on Inger? Now there is a guy who is just asking for it.
