We would be the third team to reach 50. Only 1-2 this year so I am going for .500

Easy to ignore the blue jays but
"The Blue Jays took two of three at home from the Yankees three weeks ago and are coming off a series win in Boston. After coming back from a five-run deficit Saturday, Toronto recorded a 6-1 victory Sunday and will attempt to win three straight for the first time since winning four in a row April 18-21."

Toronto played well against Boston. They are not in walkover mode right now. Good news is we don't have to face future Yankee Marcus Stroman in this series. Juniors Guerrero and Biggio are fun players for the Jays.

No Judge or Edwin.
Hicks hitting third, this team wins despite their manager.

Neither Judge nor EE are hitting well right now (despite their potential). So not having them in the line up might help in the short run even if it hurts in the long run.
But I think the decision reflects that Boone does not care much about the record. He may not even know its close although YES has talked a great deal about it.

I don't understand what Boone sees in Hicks who is batting 3rd. He has a .202 BA last of those who will start (probably last on the team). He has a .302 OBP which is second worse to didi (small sample size applies there although didi does not walk a lot).
Speaking of small sample size Stanton has a .438 OBP but a slugging percent of .320

Speaking of small sample size Stanton has a .438 OBP but a slugging percent of .320 Hicks sample size is also still quite small. Boone realizes that he is still getting his timing back and is likely to engage in a hot streak soon. I’m not overly concerned about where he’s batting tonight...

CC missing a lot on the arm side so far. Not usually a good sign for him. Plus, 87 MPH on several FB...

Lol. I sure am glad I did a scouting report on Anibal Sanchez in case we face him sometime this year. Aaron Sanchez pitching tonight for the Jays... 😂
