Tauchman's defense is solid...but that's not enough to hold a ML roster spot.. Maybe not for regular season once Stanton is back. I could see him getting a postseason roster spot based on what he does well, speed and defense. That’s a sensible role in any postseason roster. Assuming no injury and Stanton playing who would Tauchman replace? His problem is that Gardner already is a defensive replacement who can hit better.

Could be. Frazier was hitless in the three days he couldn’t be bothered to get his ass to Scranton. I agree he ruined himself by his behavior after being sent down. It was dumb. Well, that and his complete incompetence as a fielder. He seemed to suggest he was someone they couldn’t replace. That kind of false pride doesn’t translate well to being a professional in any job. The team has done really well since he left so he’s sort of proven himself to be replaceable.

You don't need 13 pitchers on a post season roster, so that would open up a spot for an extra position player.

If Voit is back, I’d take him over Hale or Cessa given that on a postseason roster teams routinely don’t bring the last pitchers on the roster since they only need 3 starters. The Yankees have done this several times before on postseason roster as other teams have as well. In fact the Yankees lost a playoff series to the Sox because of Dave Roberts in a similar role for the Sox. There’s nothing surprising or unusual about this idea.
