bad defense gives us a lead off double. Let us score a run Nothing bad about that defense. Great placement of a hard hit ball by Romine... he got the single on hitting. The fielder misplayed the ball to make it a double.

If that’s the twisted way you saw that play, all I can do is agree with you...perhaps a gold glove right fielder could have knocked that ball down. That’s not who Meadows is...

Wow. That had to be great to witness. He apparently was very very tough.....I saw him, I think 3 times in 1948, and this is not to take anything away from Satchel because he probably was in his 60's....but I am like 99% sure he was loading some pitches...and I didn't blame him at all... I wish I could remember who he pitched against in the game. I think it was Carl Hubbell and Paige won the game 1-0. Said he never saw anyone that good.

Hope these savages can put some runs up. it'll be funny if this team "adopts" that name and become beasts indeed.... “My guys are (expletive) savages in that (expletive) box and you’re having a piece of (expletive) start to this game,” Boone could be heard saying to Miller via the YES Network broadcast. false WATCH: Yankees’ Aaron Boone tells umpire he feels bad for him in epic ejection meltdown Yankees manager Aaron Boone was ejected for arguing the strike zone in the second inning of a game with the Rays on Thursday. What, exactly, did he mean, though? He answered after the game. “Make it hard on the pitcher all the time,” Boone said. "That’s something that those guys take a lot of pride in as a lineup. You may have your way with us, you may have success against us, but I want you to feel us. They take that on every game and it usually serves them well. "

It’s not often that Morton has this kind of meltdown in a game. It’s also not often that you can say that the problem a 36-year old guy is having is that he’s pitching like he did 8-10 years ago... (:

I have a feeling Satch was that good...I believe he matched up against Dizzy Dean and the Cardinals when the Cards were the best, and Satch won...

Wow, Morton went south in a hurry.
Any of you other seasoned veterans remember a pitcher named Carl Morton?
