it'll be funny if this team "adopts" that name and become beasts indeed.... “My guys are (expletive) savages in that (expletive) box and you’re having a piece of (expletive) start to this game,” Boone could be heard saying to Miller via the YES Network broadcast. false WATCH: Yankees’ Aaron Boone tells umpire he feels bad for him in epic ejection meltdown Yankees manager Aaron Boone was ejected for arguing the strike zone in the second inning of a game with the Rays on Thursday. What, exactly, did he mean, though? He answered after the game. “Make it hard on the pitcher all the time,” Boone said. "That’s something that those guys take a lot of pride in as a lineup. You may have your way with us, you may have success against us, but I want you to feel us. They take that on every game and it usually serves them well. " Except for Sanchez when he goes into a slump. He is definitely not making it hard on pitchers then...He’s showing signs of his savagery lately though...

Sometimes, all you have to do to be a savage is stand there and take a walk... (:

I wish I could remember who he pitched against in the game. I think it was Carl Hubbell and Paige won the game 1-0. Said he never saw anyone that good. I have a feeling Satch was that good...I believe he matched up against Dizzy Dean and the Cardinals when the Cards were the best, and Satch won... Utah, according to history.net, Satch and Dizzy did meet up in an exhibition game played in Cleveland in 1934. Diz and his brother Paul rented themselves out to Cleveland's AAA team to play Satch and his Negro League Pittsburgh Crawfords. Dizzy pitched three innings and allowed one run. After that he joined Paul in the outfield. Satch worked six scoreless innings and fanned 13. The rules were a bit looser in those days.

I wish you could have seen my grandfather tell the story about when he saw Paige pitch. He had throat cancer and had his voice box removed. He talked by burping air and you had to listen very closely to hear what he was saying. When he got excited, it really got hard to hear what he was saying, but it almost comical in a way because in trying to express himself, he would incorporate his flailing arms and hands in the telling of the story. By the end of it, he would be wheezing, but would have a great big smile on his face.
