Valera missed his pitch the one before...middle in and he fouled it off.

Sigh, you can't walk Holt in that situation.

Frazier’s stock was probably never higher until a couple of times that he decided to hotdog it and dive for a couple of balls, at least one of which he never came close to, and then watched a ball that was easily catchable drop and then bound past him.
Those were not really mechanical fielding errors, they were errors in judgement that showed rather poor in game intellect... That can’t be allowed if he’s going to be an MLB Of with the flexibility of at least playing both corners (he’s mostly average in LF, but has work to do in RF). If he could be pencilled in to start each day in LF, he might be MLB ready. As a back up OF, his competition is Tauchman, Maybin, and even Gardner if Stanton returns. He’s way down the depth chart, and has no one to blame but Clint Frazier.
Then, he foolishly told the press that he felt he “deserved” something after “what he’s done for this organization” which was infantile tripe when you put it up against ANY MLB team, much less the Yankees.
Yet, I still don’t dislike him, and Cashman didn’t let him go cheap. He’s getting a very fair shake to still be in the Yankee organization. He’s getting more time to learn RF, and to mature..,

Time to get someone up in the pen. One grounder and we can relax... And there it is, but it’s hit too weakly and the inning continues...

And, now here comes Betts. This is the biggest part of the game so far.
