I think it's motivation. I also think there is something else going on that no one is talking about. He's pretty abrasive.

What a great AB by Gio. Bases juiced.

Combined no hitters are lame. A complete game shutout by one pitcher would be more impressive.

Maybin got himself out in that AB.

I think it's motivation. I also think there is something else going on that no one is talking about. He's pretty abrasive. No, it’s performance. If his defense was sound, he was more versatile, and his attitude was good, he never would’ve been sent down. Maybin can play all three OF positions, Tauchman can play all OF positions, Wade can play anywhere but catcher and he was hitting over .300 at AAA. Valera was hitting .328 with an OPS of .933 and he is an infielder. If if it was only abrasiveness, he’d still be in the majors and/or he would have been scooped up at the trade deadline.

He looked really bad for a stretch in the OF. That’s not something he can just say, thanks for the short tutorial, guys. Now give me my job back... I say let him keep working...Earn the respect he seems to feel should be handed to him...I don’t dislike him, I just think he needs this lesson to become a better player. Who cares what he hits if he’s going let runs score when he’s in the field?...

Add Barnes to the list of Red Sox relievers that are melting this season...

Plus the Yanks keep having needs because of injuries. DJ got hurt and then DiDi, which is why we saw Wade & Valera. Now Ford is here because the Yankees need a 1B.
