Frazier must be really pissing someone off. With all the power bats out and Judge going through a big slump you would have thought he'd be the first man up not Ford. There is no way Ford is going to be as productive as Frazier would.

There is no way Ford is going to be as productive as Frazier would. Frazier’s not an infielder, and he’s not really hitting. Voit and Encarnacion are first basemen. Ford is a first baseman, and his numbers at AAA are phenomenal. Maybin and Gardy just came off the DL and Tauchman has outhit the rest of MLB for the last month. |

Just got back in from attending an Arts and Crafts Festival in a small nearby mountain town... nice to see the game is still competitive and able to see a late Yankees win...Bottom of the 7th would be a great time to hang a crooked number on that rust-bucket in left field... I keep hearing that argument but with Encarcion out there is the DH spot and we could use the power more than we need weak bats. I guess we'll see what Ford does.

Why quote minor league stats. Frazier was up here and proved he could hit major league pitching.

Encarnacion is also a first baseman with decent hands and tons of professional experience at the position. If LeMahieu got hurt, who is the first baseman, Frazier? Hicks? Romine has a few innings there, but he’s your backup catcher when Sanchez returns. Right now, he’s the starting catcher. It makes no good sense to bring up Frazier with the players who are out. |
