He’ll still look like he just bit into a lemon if he does... Remember Earnie Shavers, The Chocolate Lemon? I remember him, sure... but I don’t recall ever hearing that nickname...

The shame is that we had Plutko on the ropes early and let him get away... He should have gotten busted up. Almost did...

Chance Adams taking one for the team. It is a far, far better thing he does than he has ever done. If Dickens had been a sports writer.

I remember him, sure... but I don’t recall ever hearing that nickname... I remember him giving himself that name. Back in the days when you could still watch a championship fight on network television. And you actually knew who the champ was. And cared who the champ was. And there weren’t 15 different championships in each weight class. “Fighting for the South American Jello Pudding Pop Title tonight, with a record of 4-23, with two big wins coming by way of knockout, some little white dude with no chance whatsoever vs. “Tommy The Truck” with a record of 115-0, fighting out of his own personal gym with all of his wins coming by first round TKO, except for one by stabbing and two by shooting... T-O-M-M-Y the T-R-U-C-K, and his hit men from Guatemala”!!!

It is always preferable that a pitcher gives up no runs. One hundred percent of the time. Even in the days of Candy Cummings and Albert Spalding.

I couldn't tell you who any weight class champion is, and like you I don't care. I used to, many years ago.
