This is a game talking about the umpires and user names is better than the game... 8-2 Cleveland can sure hit.

Hey Pipps! I missed commenting on Tony Conigliaro, but that was not only a horrific tragedy, but the biggest story of this then 13-year old boy’s baseball season.
The kid that lived next door to us was hit by a swinging bat as he wandered too close to the on-deck circle as it caught him right on the edge of his outer right eye socket.
The doctor told him that if it would have been 1/4 inch in one direction it would have taken his eye out. If it had been 1/4 inch the other way it would have caught his temple and likely would have killed him. I haven’t seen him in about 50 years, but I imagine he still carries that horseshoe shaped scar around his eye...At the time he was bruised up about as bad as Tony C....
He was a year older than me, and was the first kid to ask me to have a catch with him when I was 9 1/2 and had never experienced playing baseball in any way...
Strange how we sort of forget those landmark moments that wind up shaping our lives, and then Tony Conigliaro steps out of baseball’s shadows and reminds us...

Urshela hit it hard just not quite hard enough
2-2 in a really tough series works for me. Next we go play Oakland who is white hot.

Tampa rallied to win 5-4. They can't play detroit forever.

Well this pitcher will be gone next inning anyway Maybe, but unfortunately this thug umpire will still be there, deliberately screwing the Yanks with these calls and then trying to pick a fight with them if they dare to question his majesty. I know I'm in the minority here, but I think the Yanks are completely in the right expressing their disgust with this charade. Then, you have company in the minority. I agree with you. I also believe that if the umpires were troubled with Gardner banging a bat in the dugout, then a warning should haven been issued, or at the very least, notify Boone in advance of the consequences should it continue.

Also, regarding umpires. I thought the crew that called the Toronto series was damn near unnoticeable. Meaning, they didn't miss many calls, and if so, they handled the communication with the players and managers in such a professional fashion, it satisfied rather than escalated the circumstances. Competence, humility, and civility go a long way. Cuzzi and his crew had rabbit ears and princess-like sensibilities. Communicate clearly and calmly, then enforce consequences as stated.
