I personally think noetsi's concerns are well founded. We have the worst stating rotation by far. But the playoffs may allow us to shorten the rotation. Bullpen better be ready to go early and often, though. That was basically the problem in 2017 bullpen got burnt out. CC wound up having to pitch important games etc.

Seriously Russ, I’d love to see the pitching performing better, and I share your concern to a point. I just refuse to obsess over it and believe that in this era of baseball the offense and defense are as equal as they can be. You have to stop the other team, or you have to outscore them. One thing that is an absolute is that if the opponent cannot score. They cannot win. Period. It’s been a long time since the Yankees didn’t score, but that can happen. Over the next couple of weeks we’re going to see what, if any bullets we can add to the pitching staff. We’ll also find out if any of the pitchers on opposing staffs are going to have problems or have pitchers go on the shelf... There’s nothing else we can do, so the bitching, carping, moaning, whining and other negativism is not going to help...

There is very little chance Happ starts a playoff game this season, so to have concerns on the post season rotation based on results of regular season games started by Happ doesn't make a lot of sense. So who will be the 4 man rotation. I am sure you will say Severino who you pointed out to me recently we have no idea when he will come back and may not even be capable of pitching in the play offs. We have German, Tanaka, Paxton gasp and then..... Of those pitchers only one has had success in the play offs. And they will face pretty good teams as the last six games reflect.

What are you doing Happ????? He's sucking like he always does. Giving up walks and homers. Not getting out of the 4th or 5th inning. You know, Happ stuff. The real question is what Boone, who knows this, was waiting for. Perhaps he has written off the game.

There is scant chance that Happ won’t be locked in a dungeon during the post season to keep him from infecting the rest of the pitching staff. Maybe in a leprosy colony on a remote island...with cannibals...

that might be the first time in twenty years here someone agreed with me. Thanks Of course the starting pitching is a concern. Every one knows that. Do we have to hear about it over and over and over and over on every thread?

While the pitching frustrates me personally our inability to score is really puzzling. We should score more off these pitchers.
